My husband and I were in need of a home inspection for the house we were purchasing. From a referral from my boss, I was given the number for COMMON SENSE HOME INSPECTION SERVICES, owned by Scott Ter Horst. After calling and scheduling an appointment,we were extremely impressed, with the cost, flexibilty,and customer service, that Scott offered us. During the inspection, Scott explaned to us what he " looks" for while performing the inspection, Such as, structural cracks, appliance checks, plumbing, electral, etc. Scott walked us thru every room and reviewed what he saw, with us. Scott was very informational and professional. When the inspection was completed, Scott gave us some pointers on how to save money on our utility bills, which we were very grateful for. If you are looking for a home inspector, Scott Ter Horst is trustworthy, an honest person, and very affordable. We are very satisfied with his service and I know you will be to.

My wife, Tasha and I were planning on buying a home that was a " Foreclosure". Even tho I was told that when you buy a foreclosure, you buy it "AS IS" , my realtor suggested I have a home inspection. My realtor gave me some names of local inspectors, and after looking at their rates and experience, I called Scott Ter Horst. During the inspection, Scott showed me that, even tho the furnace was not very old, it was installed "improperly", and very dangerous to operate. Scott "condemned" the furnace, and completely shut it off. Scott then alerted my realtor, and told him that he would even get a second opinion to verify his findings. This hvac service tec backed-up Scott`s findings. Scott presented his report to the realtor, who in turn gave it to the bank that owned the home. Because of Scott`s knowledge and diligence, the bank installed a new furnace in the home, at no cost to me. Needless to say, we were very glad we had Scott do our inspection. Doug and Tasha Polk.

I want to thank you for your great work on the home inspection. You were extremely thorough and knowledgeable and helped tremendously in providing resources to support your opinion of code and violations in the sellers home, when the seller would not believe us. As I said when we first spoke on the phone, you charge too small a fee for your services. The closest fee I could find to you when I was researching inpectors charges was 20% more than you do. I even found a couple of inspectors that charge 50% more than you. I can't imagine they could possibly do a better job than you. You were patient with my questions and spent as much time as was necessary to complete a thorough inspection. I would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a home inspection.

recommendation but a requirement. I believe Scott TerHorst's service in inspecting homes is what leads me to believe this. Often times, I've heard about Scott alerting future home owners of major or minor repairs that could save them thousands of dollars and years of misfortune.
